I have dedicated this site to the members of D Company 229th, 571st
Transportation Detachment, F Troop 1/9th Cavalry, and D Troop 229th AHB.
The impetus for the creation of this site began several years ago when
after many years of not having been in contact with some of my former buddies, I decided
to contact one friend in particular that I had not spoken to for what seemed like forever.
Upon trying to locate and make contact with him, I learned from his brother that he
had died several years prior in a motorcycle accident. I deeply regretted the time
that had gone by. Realizing that NONE of us is getting any younger, and having
learned that a few other members had also passed away, I was determined to create a way
for all of us to make contact with one another and stay in touch. So, to a very
great extent, Ed Miezejeski, this site is also for you. May you
forever ride the stars.
